In this instance it does not apply either way as Glen Hibernians are not Glen Celtic so they are a completely new club. Any new club should enter any organizations league at the bottom division, what players they sign after that fact is completely their business.

I think really it’s up to the new clubs coming in to decide for themselves what level they think they can compete at. If you are a new team with lots of fellas that have played senior and premier AUL it’s pointless starting in division 3.

I was thinking recently about a lot of the clubs that went to MSL from the AUL and you have to question if it was the right move. Most of those teams are in no man’s land now. Look at buttevant, Kanturk, temple, carrigtohill, park, innishvilla and pearse.
Buttevant have barely won a game in years, temple seniors lost by 10 at one stage last season. Park and carrigtohill are scraping the barrel senior div 2 and wouldn’t be out of place in AUL division 1.

Thoroughly Disagree with your 1st point @Thatsfootballbaby as teams within the league work hard to get up those divisions so to see it handed to others is absolutely soul destroying.
Thoroughly agree with most of your second point outside of the inclusion of Temple.
Temple to be fair finished the season very strongly & would fancy themselves to have a cut off promotion next season, also unsure why they are in your thought process here as they have had been a senior club mostly for decades so they are a bit different to the others.

MossieLinane it’s soul destroying too for the teams looking to get promoted from div 3 when a giant comes in and crushes them. In an ideal world teams would have to start from scratch but it kills the competition for that season when they are too good for the level.

My point on temple was that since they went back to MSL in 2023 they have been in no man’s land like the rest of the clubs I mentioned. Would you take hovering around mid table in MSL division 2 or competing for leagues and cups in AUL?

If uv a newly formed team of galacticos , whats the point going down to Div 3 in fairness , Mallow Town were no where near a Div 3 team , takes the competitiveness away from the others.

Mallow won div 3 by 3 points, the other divisions were won by 14, 8, 4 & 11 points respectively.
Clubs spend decades trying to get from div 3 to Prem and some prcks put a few names together and are given a 2 or 3 division leg up. it`s a psstake imho

And Half the reason they take years getting out is teams like this arrive on and stunt teams progression ,and thats the teams who are competitive at their level the weakest teams just get destroyed by these newly assembled dream team.

Shandon were the past crowd like this were Cathedral in premier then down to division 3 as Shandon only difference is they crossed the road to play games.

Flew up the divisions after this a complete joke.

The league can move teams up and down as they see fit.

On Mallow it was 1 round league hence the lower winning margin.

To be fair they were strong but it was their 1st ever adult team they will be a huge force in the AUL in the next decade have a brilliant underage structure behind them

Fruice and teams will continue to fold and reform whenever they feel like it gets a small bit difficult.

Its hard for the league to completely be sure how good a teams going to be. Its happened in other leagues, a new team joins and they're stacked with lads stepping down from senior leagues and even paying players

The Callaghans are top class but that Cathedral team was stacked with ballers to be fair. Word on street is most are signed up again for this year with some solid additions

Bowser they'll be a serious team if so. Lads just want to play with their mates and win things at he end of the day. Can't blame them.

There are no giants in the AUL. It's a shipping league level league with Coachford lapping it up.

They are the best because its easy to win chocolate trophies against nothing.

They can only beat what's in front of them an that's poor to be honest.

Saying that the Aul league itself needs to take a good hard look at itself.

Prem, 1st ,2nd ,3rd let's be honest it's all over the place

Littleman tell us you know nothing about junior football without telling us you know nothing. Coachford are beating teams all over the country in the FAI cup so what you’re saying doesn’t make any sense.
