Hoping to get a thread going for Cork AUL from old Foot.ie website if anybody is interested?

Keen to know final standings and how things ended up promotion and relegation wise in each division.

Also any gossip welcome on the transfers side of things

One of the most active forum pages from Foot.ie. Good to see someone started the thread again. Hopefully the old guard will return here for some top class analysis and friendly banter.

It will be interesting to see what the AUL do in terms of the league structures or if any changes will come. Division 1 was a joke last year for example.

Glen Celtic coming back as Glen Hibernians apparently.

AULad interesting anyone have any idea what division they are being put into?

Before folding previously as Glen Celtic there were some behavioural issues so hopefully that has been ironed out.

I wouldn’t put money on them being around for long personally.
Any idea of the set up there? Is it the same people or a big change just from the same area

Mallow town and Belmount should be moved up to division 1 surely. Two very good teams and a match for most premier teams besides coachford.

You could definitely make the argument for those types of moves, it would be up to the clubs to accept or not I suppose.

Could the page cover all junior football in Cork, AUL Munster Junior League , Business League, West Cork League, might get rid of the plague of posting crap that almost overcame the old page, who's who.... who you' playing with....what club you're signed with....various axes to grind, just became so tiresome that many of those with something of value just withdrew!

End of season thoughts from lads?
I think a great result for Donoughmore to get second in a league where 2nd is all you can hope for.
Banteer second league title in a row, which is a tough thing to do regardless of division structure. Maybe a big ask to keep it going up in Premier.
Waterloo back in form this season and again a very competitive division. Los Zarcos missing promotion again by a whisker must be tough to take.
Cathedral outclassed their division. Decent side.
Mallow clearly starting fresh in that division an easy task for them, well able for bigger challenges up the leagues.

Premier League - Coachford A — 40 pts, Donoughmore Athletic — 26 pts
Premier A League - CFC Banteer — 33 pts, Strand United A — 25 pts
Division 1 - Waterloo — 35 pts, Corkbeg — 31 pts
Division 2 - Cathedral Celtic — 45 pts, Mogeely — 34 pts
Division 3 - Mallow Town — 36 pts, Bellmount Celtic — 33 pts

Biggest disappointment must be the fact that most premier clubs just accepted defeat before the league even started this year and it wasn’t even close to being competitive.

Premier A being a 6 team league was of a fairly poor standard bar Banteer who were quite strong.

Division 1, 2 & 3 were all fairly competitive ant the top of each league until late on and they were also of a much higher standard than usual in my opinion.

I would say there will be a few of the older lads from Glen Celtic involved. You would Imagine John Corcoran , Wonks , Skilly and Pa Long. They would have to attract younger players which there surely is living in the Glen at this stage. Dont the league decide where the team goes depending on who is signed? Signing a load of old players didnt exactly work for Blarney Street when they attempted to make a comeback

Anyone have any idea when leagues are going to be released? Hopefully it won’t be August like last year. Surely there will be a good shake up and a rejig

Roversreturn id say it will be the same with teams unsure ifnthey be back and the new teams setting up

That’s true - I’d say no league will be scrapped just a bunch of teams moving up and relegated

Lads in Div 2 Cathedral came first no surprises there given the two o callaghans up front.

But Mogeely and Blackstone finished level on points didn't see any play off for 2nd.

Wil both teams go up or is goal diff the decider ?

The Callaghans are top class but that Cathedral team was stacked with ballers to be fair. Word on street is most are signed up again for this year with some solid additions
